It recognizes the lasting impact of those who believe in us, open doors, share opportunities, and walk beside us throughout life's journey. Meet Our 2026 Legends
Celebrating the inspiring leaders and changemakers who make a lasting difference in our community and beyond.
Born in Jamaica, raised in Memphis; Overton High and University of Memphis graduate. Accountant, business consultant, and real estate investor with 60+ Memphis properties. Mother and manager of NLE Choppa and the force behind the NLE Choppa Foundation, focused on financial literacy and youth outreach.
Angelet
Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Retail/D2C at Varsity Spirit, with 25+ years there. Led the rebrand, Varsity TV, and the Pro Cheer League. A former FSU cheerleader and UCA instructor who has co-hosted the Varsity Spirit Cheerleading Championships on ESPN since 2010.
Nicole Lauchaire
First Lady of the Citadel of Deliverance alongside Bishop Linwood Dillard, Jr. Educator, author (Pretty Girls Pray Always, Mary's Girl), and mental health advocate with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Works as an Intensive Outpatient Therapist and mentors young women; formerly with Girls Inc. of Memphis.
Lady Stephanie Dillard
Actress and producer. Currently Detective Davis on BET+'s All the Queen's Men; best known as Keisha Jones in Tyler Perry's For Better or Worse. Toured 13 cities with The Bachelorette Party and now produces, with a focus on diversity in entertainment and youth advocacy.
Kiki Haynes
President and CEO of Neighborhood Christian Centers since 2008, growing it from $2.1M to $5.6M and serving roughly 32,000 people a year. Founder of Pop-A-Roos Gourmet Popcorn, which employs women seeking second chances. Also a vocalist and motivational speaker.
Ephie Johnson
Founder of Neighborhood Christian Centers, which began as a grassroots ministry in 1968 and was formally established in 1978. With her late husband Monroe, she fostered 75 children. Author of Room in Our Hearts, Room in Our Home and I Belong Here; passed NCC leadership to her daughter Ephie Johnson in 2008.
Dr. JoeAnn Ballard
Emmy-nominated actress, director, and voice artist. Cecile Horton on The Flash, Sara in Tyler Perry's Acrimony, plus Central Intelligence, 3rd Rock from the Sun, and The Boondocks. Directed her first feature in 2025 and advocates for mental health awareness and animal rescue.
Danielle Nicolet
Memphis native with a 28-year career in dance, film, and television, and 200+ credits including Rosewood, Scream 2, The Hughleys, and Hustle & Flow. Eight NAACP Image Award nominations. A longtime St. Jude supporter and former African American liaison for the hospital.
