Carry The Light

Carry The Light

Recent events remind us that what AngelStreet does is not just good work, but Gospel work. It brings good news in difficult times.

Young people in Memphis have light to give, and we as a community have the power to cultivate it and put it on display. We can help change the narratives of struggling youth.

Remember, no matter how hard it tries, darkness can never conquer light.

CARRY THE LIGHT

(Written by Jill Dyson & Terrian 2016)
VERSE 1
Left behind and broken
She's empty once again
Where there once was beauty
Now her sidewalk's caving in
Bars on all the windows
Of Johnson's Hardware Store
Cause there's another dying city
She used to be much more
PRE-CHORUS
What we need all of us can give
Hands and feet show her how to live
CHORUS
Carry The Light and let it lead you through the darkness
Scatter the night and let His mercy love come falling down
Carry The Light and let it take to you to His promise
For all of us to shine
And Carry The Light
VERSE 2
Just beyond the river
There's a world she's never known
Dreams of higher mountains
Only seen but never shown
No never shown
A voice of adoration
Is what she longs to see
The vision of His greatness
Her final destiny
PRE-CHORUS
What we need all of us can give
Hands and feet show her how to live
CHORUS
Carry The Light and let it lead you through the darkness
Scatter the night and let His mercy love come falling down
Carry The Light and let it take to you to His promise
For all of us to shine
And carry the light
BRIDGE
From the city and its streets
There's a message we can bring
With the voice of every girl
That shines among us from the river to the world
CHORUS
Carry The Light and let it lead you through the darkness
Scatter the night and let His mercy love come falling down
Carry The Light and let it take to you to His promise
For all of us to shine, for all of us to shine
And Carry The Light
