JILL DYSON

Founder + Development Director

Role: Engaging and building community partners and supporters, Fundraising, Executive Team

"Being a product of the arts made me who I am today. The confidence instilled, creative outlet it provided and the relationships formed were essential. I love that AngelStreet provides the same opportunity in areas with limited access to arts." -Jill Dyson

FACTS ABOUT ME
  • Born and raised in Memphis!
  • Was on a Ricki Lake commercial in the '90s.
  • My skirt fell off onstage while I was dancing during a performance at the Grand Ole Opry when I was in 7th grade. I kept going like a pro but was soooo embarrassed.
  • Minored in musical theatre in college.

MEMPHIS MUST-EXPERIENCE: Coastal Fish on the porch...best sunset in Memphis!

FRIDGE MUST-HAVE: Almond creamer

SOMEONE WHO IMPACTED ME:
My music director at school, Karen Gloria. I learned how to sing harmonies and perform on stage. Being in the show choir and performance group gave me much-needed confidence.

ARTISTIC BACKGROUND:
Show choir, concert choir, musical theatre, acting lessons, plays through school and community theaters.

FAVORITE ANGELSTREET MEMORY:
Going back to Grand Ole Opry to sing on stage with Mandisa and TobyMac at the KLove Fan Awards [May 2018]!

ANGELSTREET MOMENT OF IMPACT:
Building a relationship with Terrian Bass Woods and getting to experience her journey as Artist Manager has been nothing short of incredible.

SUPPORTING ANGELS:
I give because our participants are an ASSET to invest in and are the future leaders of our city!

Go out into the world uncorrupted, like a breath of fresh air in a squalid and polluted society.
Provide people a glimpse of good living and of the living God. Carry the light giving message in to the night.

-Philippians 2:15-
